Woman may develop leg cramps, so try not to stand for long periods and drink plenty of water.
Health care provider probably sent woman for some blood tests early in pregnancy. Blood tests measure the Rh factor, a substance found in the red blood cells of most people. If woman don't have it (if Rh negative) but baby does (is Rh positive), there is potential for baby to have health problems, such as jaundice and anemia. Doctor can prevent these problems by giving woman a vaccine called Rh immune globulin at 28 weeks and again after delivery.
